How the process works
Share your mark and business details
Tell us the name, logo or slogan you want to protect, who owns it, and the goods or services connected to the mark.
Review search and filing scope
We identify the filing scope, classes, use status and any search work that may be appropriate before filing.
Prepare and move toward filing
Once the scope is confirmed, the application information can be prepared for submission to the USPTO.
The USPTO base application filing fee for Sections 1 and 44 is currently $350 per class. Additional USPTO fees can apply when an application is incomplete or uses certain custom goods/services descriptions. Professional service fees are separate unless your written quote states otherwise.
USPTO processing times change. Examination and registration timing varies; consult the USPTO processing-times page for current estimates.4 months from filing to registration or abandonment. Individual applications can take more or less time.
U.S.-domiciled applicants are not required by the USPTO to hire an attorney, although the USPTO encourages applicants to consider one. Foreign-domiciled applicants must be represented before the USPTO by a U.S.-licensed attorney.
No legitimate filing service can guarantee registration. The USPTO examines every application, and refusals, office actions or third-party challenges can affect the outcome.
Government fees, deadlines and processing times can change. For Canadian trademark information, review CIPO resources. For U.S. trademark information, review the USPTO trademark resources. LLC formation requirements and fees vary by state.
