Direct answer
For most U.S. applications filed under Sections 1 or 44, the USPTO base application fee is $350 per class. Your total cost can be higher if you file in multiple classes, incur additional USPTO fees, later submit intent-to-use documents or purchase professional search, filing or legal services.
Start with the government filing fee
The USPTO currently charges a $350 base application fee for each class of goods or services in most Sections 1 and 44 applications. A mark covering one class starts with one government fee; a mark covering two classes starts with two. The fee is paid to the USPTO and is separate from private service-provider fees unless a written quote expressly bundles them.
Why the total can be higher than $350
Additional USPTO fees can apply when an application is missing required information, uses certain custom descriptions of goods or services, or requires later filings. Intent-to-use applications also require additional documents and fees before registration when the mark is placed in use.
What a professional-service quote should show
A useful quote should separate government fees from professional fees and identify the number of classes, search work, application preparation, attorney involvement if any, and post-filing support. If a quote is vague about what is included, ask for the scope in writing before paying.
How to get a more accurate quote
Send the proposed mark, owner name, goods or services, whether the mark is already in use, the number of likely classes and any existing USPTO serial number. Those details determine the filing path more accurately than a flat advertised price.
